Born of a journey

It all began on the water. While sailing on the turquoise waters of Melanesia—New Caledonia, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea—I discovered lands of rare richness, where artisanal skills are passed down from generation to generation through jewelry, sculptures, and everyday objects.

The tools are simple: carving chisels for wood, a small locally made drill, a sharpening stone for shells, a needle for piercing seeds, and natural elements for dyes and customs. It was with these ancestral gestures that everything took shape.

🌱 Walking through their gardens, I discovered extraordinary seeds: church seed, flamboyant, sea bean, vegetable ivory from the Solomon Islands and Vanuatu… I first carved wooden dishes inlaid with nautilus, then made my first necklaces—seeds pierced with a needle, assembled with fishing line. It was at this precise moment that ILOHA CRÉATION was born, the expertise of seed jewelry.

At that time, I wasn't selling my creations. It was a simple and sincere exchange—between me and the inhabitants, between two cultures, between two ways of seeing the world. This two-year journey was a profound enrichment: strong traditions, smiles, sharing, peaceful bays, traditional dances in a forest on an isolated island, far from everything.

Since then, ILOHA CRÉATION has made its way. Self-taught, I learned macrame, worked with seeds in a thousand ways, explored new mixtures—and above all cultivated the creativity, imagination, and patience that form the soul of each piece.

A big thank you to all the people who supply me with seeds from all corners of "the Pebble" (New Caledonia): Houaïlou, Canala, Pouebo, Poindimié, Tomo, La Foa, Yaté, and of course the Loyalty Islands. Without them, ILOHA CRÉATION would not have such richness to work with. Gathering is a game of patience — A BIG THANK YOU 🙏

Since then, ILOHA CREATION has diversified its materials, including operculum shells, colorful volcanic stone, local sandalwood, sand, resin inclusions, pencil sea urchin spines, shell imprints... with macrame finishes or noble materials such as silver or 14K gold-filled for necklace chains, earring hooks, and bracelets.

Thank you for taking the time to read me, to visit my site, and for your little "likes" on Facebook and Instagram.
